I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
First, I'd like to thank everyone who brought in cookies for our bake sale. It was a huge success-we raised $250! :)
- A reminder that there will be no school this Tuesday (Feb.1st) as it is our PD day. It is also the halfway mark of our school year. Time is flying by!
- Though it is a short week, we will be having our regular spelling test on unit 17.
-I'll be sending home entries for the Pauline Simmons writing contest this week. Please sign the attached permission form and return it to school (along with your child's entry) if you would like their piece of writing submitted to the contest.
- Last week, we watched the video "The Born Numeracy"which showed us that math is everywhere! This week, we will begin an assignment that goes along with this movie. Students are being asked to take two pictures of somewhere they've found math in the real world. I have a camera at school that students can borrow, or they may also use a camera at home and email the picture to me. I look forward to seeing some very creative pictures! There will be prizes for the most creative entries!
